How is an entry in journal recorded?
I’m learning about accounting basics and want to understand how an entry in journal should be recorded correctly. Are there any common mistakes beginners should avoid?

A journal entry is an accounting record of a business transaction in the form of debits and credits. The journal entry usually consists of the date, accounts involved, amount, and narration. Debits have to be equal to credits. In case of paying rent ₹1,000: Debit Rent Expense ₹1,000; Credit Cash ₹1,000.

A journal entry is an accounting event recorded with debits and credits. It consists of a date, accounts, amounts, and a narration. The sum of the debits equals that of the credits. Example: ₹1,000 rent payment: Debit Rent Expense; Credit Cash.
