What does realized P mean in accounting?
What does realized P mean in an accounting or financial statement context? I’ve come across the abbreviation and would like to understand what it represents and where it is typically used.

“Realized P” usually refers to a realized profit. It means a gain has actually been recognized because an asset or investment was sold or otherwise settled, rather than simply increasing in value on paper.

In accounting, realized P usually means realized profit—the gain actually earned when an asset or investment is sold or a transaction is completed. It differs from an unrealized profit, which exists only because the asset’s value has increased but hasn’t been sold yet.

"Realized P" refers to the term realized profit. This is where there has been an actual realization of gains since there has been a sale or settlement of assets or investments.
