What time does the Nasdaq stock market open?

Question

Knowing the Nasdaq's regular trading hours can help investors plan when to monitor prices and place orders. Regular trading generally runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on trading days, although extended-hours sessions are also available. How do you plan your trading activity around market opening times and price movements?

Samantha · Answer

9:30 AM Eastern, closes at 4 PM. Pre-market starts way earlier, around 4 AM, if you’re an early bird.
