Where can I find my AGI on my W-2?

Can I find my AGI on my W-2, or do I need to look at a previous tax return? I’d like to understand which tax document contains adjusted gross income when preparing a U.S. tax return.

You won’t see your AGI in your W-2 form. W-2 reflects only wages earned and withholding tax information. To determine AGI, refer to line 11 of Form 1040 for tax year AGI. For prior year AGI, consult your filed tax return.
