The value of r closest to +1 or −1 shows the strongest correlation.
For example, r = −0.90 indicates a stronger correlation than r = +0.60, because |−0.90| = 0.90 is greater than |+0.60| = 0.60. Values near 0 indicate weaker linear correlation.
The r-value (correlation coefficient) closest to +1 or −1 shows the stronger correlation. For example, r = −0.90 is stronger than r = +0.60 because its absolute value, 0.90, is larger. An r-value near 0 indicates weak or no linear correlation.
The r-value that is closer to +1 or −1 demonstrates stronger correlation. For instance, an r-value of −0.90 demonstrates stronger correlation than the one with r-value of +0.60 since its absolute value is higher at 0.90. An r-value of close to zero means there is very little or no correlation.
An r-value which is nearer to +1 or –1 indicates better correlation. For example, an r-value of –0.90 shows better correlation than the other having r-value of +0.60 since the absolute value of the former is greater than the latter, being 0.90. If the r-value is near to zero, it indicates poor correlation.
