Who is the Wall Street Journal owner?
Who is the current Wall Street Journal owner? I’m interested in understanding which company owns the publication and how the newspaper fits into its broader corporate structure.

The Wall Street Journal is published by Dow Jones & Company, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of News Corp (NASDAQ: NWSA / NWS). News Corp itself is publicly traded but tightly controlled by the Murdoch family through a dual-class voting share structure — Rupert Murdoch acquired Dow Jones in 2007, stepped back from day-to-day control in 2023, and Lachlan Murdoch now leads the company as chairman and CEO. So the chain is: WSJ → Dow Jones & Co. → News Corp → Murdoch family control.

It's owned by News Corp, Rupert Murdoch's company. Been that way since 2007 when they bought Dow Jones.

The Wall Street Journal is a product of Dow Jones & Company, which is an entirely-owned subsidiary of News Corporation (NYSE: NWSA / NWS). News Corp is a publicly-traded corporation, but it is firmly under the control of the Murdoch family owing to its dual-class structure of voting stock - where Rupert Murdoch bought out Dow Jones in 2007, distanced himself from the operations in 2023, and Lachlan Murdoch currently runs the company as its chairman and CEO.
